Jackfruit is grown in the South and Southeast Asian countries. It is the national fruit of Bangladesh and Sri Lanka and state fruits of Indian states of Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
Jackfruit is a multiple fruit and grows in clusters during monsoon seasons. Each jackfruit weighs between 10 to 100 pounds. They are rich in proteins and vitamins and yet low in calories. Ripened jackfruit is perfect for smoothies, fruit dishes and desserts.
